College and Career Appreciation Week

What do you want to be when you grow up?

If you do not have an answer now, that is okay.  This week, we will explore a number of different careers and colleges right here at Hunter B. Andrews! Your school counseling department has lined up a number of different events for you to help you think about what's in store for you in the future.  Remember, the sky is the limit!

On Monday, December 5th through Friday, December 9th, we will be celebrating College and Career Appreciation Week!  The themes for the week will be: 

            vMonday – Gator Pride - Wear your school shirts and 
colors to show you are ready to succeed!
vTuesday - Sunglasses Day - My future is bright!
vWednesday- Wear your college paraphernalia/colors
vThursday - Future Career Day - Dress up as your future career.
vFriday – College/Career Day – Dress for success!

We have many events scheduled for Friday, December 9th:

10:30 AM - 12 PM - Middle Grades-College & Career Fair   

12:15 PM- 1:10 PM -  Special Education Presentation
Presenter: Ms. Shepard to discuss career and college services offered by 
the Department of Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS).

2 PM - 3 PM - Grades 3rd - 5th Assembly - 
Hampton University Athletic's Department sending athletes to give motivational speech about pursuing your dreams; Mrs. Tidwell-Watson (entrepreneur, executive producer, local talk show host, hair stylist, model, empowerment speaker, etc.) to provide motivational speech to students.

2 PM - 3 PM - Grades PreK - 2nd 
Parents invited  to speak to learning communities about their careers. Only parents that have RSVP'd will be allowed to present.  Forms were emailed to parents on Wednesday, November 23rd and sent home with students on Monday, November 28th.
