Building Principal

“In order to reach the mind of a child, one must reach the heart of a child.”

As the current principal of Hunter B. Andrews PreK-8 School, I have the distinct privilege of working collaboratively with a great team of educators as we implement a rigorous instructional program. I am entering Hunter B. Andrews PreK-8 School with twenty-eight years of educational experience ranging from being a classroom teacher, instructional coach and school administration. Prior to my appointment to Hunter B. Andrews, I served as principal of John Tyler Elementary, as well as, administrator of Wythe Elementary.

My educational belief is comprised of setting high standards and expectations for students and staff coupled with developing a road map of success for all. I am a firm believer that building strong positive relationships is a key to success. I operate by three criteria:

(1) Dignity: All people deserve to be treated with dignity;

(2) Respect: All people deserve to be respected; and

(3)Professionalism: All people deserve to be treated with professionalism.

It is my hope that we create a collaborative learning environment for all of Hunter B. Andrews’ internal and external stakeholders.

Feel free to contact me or visit with me this year and I look forward to working collaboratively with you.
